Mg.sc.soc. Liene Ločmele
Intercultural and interpersonal communication, social construction of identity, cultural discourse analysis
Liene Ločmele’s research interests lie in the interpersonal and intercultural aspects of human communication with a special focus on the communication of identity in various contexts, e.g. education and migration. She is currently working as a lecturer in the Faculty of Society and Science at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences where she teaches various undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of communication, media, and culture. In 2009 she received Fulbright Student Fellowship for studying towards PhD at the Department of Communication, the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, USA where she is currently in the final stage of her doctoral studies. She holds a MA in Intercultural Communication from the University of Jyväskyla in Finland.
